Puppy Training: Stop Dog Barking Click here for puppies
Barking is natural, and a dog that barks only when strangers come around the house should be commended, not punished, espedally in an urban area where everyone lives with the threat of crime. Some dogs will bark to warn their owner and, once the owner acknowledges the dog’s message with an “Okay, I hear it,” they will stop barking.

Problem barking occurs when a dog barks nonstop and the neighbors complain. Some dogs bark incessantly because they are “hyper” and overreact to every little sound around them; others may bark because they are anxious that their owner left them. Some of the toy dogs are notorious barkers.

Schnauzers love to be involved in family occasions. Though strong and diligent, they can be deeply affectionate, warm and cuddly when the mood strikes.

Testing this has proved difficult as Salukis show no interest in electric hares and therefore won't race greyhounds on a track. However, as their original use was for hunting desert gazelles with top speeds of up to 50 mph, the speed claim could be true.

Dog Health: Dog Food Diet - Natural Dog foods Click here for puppies
Its just plain common sence that your dog needs proper nutrition, or a good dog food diet, to remain healthy. Vets and pet food manufacturers many time have opposing ideas on what is an appropriate diet for your dog. Commercial pet food manufacturers are motivated mostly by profits and consequently, commercially prepared foods are commonly marketed as part of a sufficient, or good, diet for your dog. Sometimes your vet or dog breeder may approve of commercially prepared foods as your dog's sole diet. However, there is a very large body of research that tends to prefer a largely natural diet which for dogs is invariably comprised of meat and bones. Raw is preferable to cooked, as some of the minerals are entirely lost in the cooking process.

Puppy Training: Puppy Potty Training Click here for puppies
The most successful puppy house training takes advantage of the built-in canine instinct to not soil its own den. This instinctual trait is used to train the dog when and where to eliminate. This helpful attribute is the fundamental basis that makes crate training work for us in teaching our canine friends that all of the rooms in the house are part of the den. The best place to start expanding this canine instinct is by use of a dog crate. Bear in mind that a crate should not be used except for potty training, evening rest, and for short periods - (Less than 4 hours MAXIMUM during the day) The objective is to make the dog realize that particular areas of the house are "den" areas. Eventually the dog will begin to equate the crate, or the room, as its own den. Since dogs are by nature very clean animals, they try their best to avoid using their dens as bathrooms.
